UPDATE: The updated version of the Onda oBook 10 SE is now available at Geekbuying for $185.39. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of eMMCand is powered by the Intel X5 Z8300 CPU with Remix OS 2.0 and Windows 10 in dual boot.
Recently the Onda oBook 10 SE 2 in 1 Tablet running Remix OS 2.0 was spotted on several online stores.
To give you some history…
Earlier this year the Onda released the Onda oBook 10 featuring Windows 10 with the Intel X5 Z8300 CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of RAM. Soon after Onda released a dual OS featuring Windows 10 and Android 5.1 with the same hardware.
In April the oBook 10 Pro was released with the more powerful Intel X7 Z8700 CPU and a better screen at 1920 x 1200.
Unfortunately the Onda oBook 10 SE has had a downgrade in hardware since it only has 2GB of RAM with of 32GB storage. Fortunately Remix OS runs really well on lower hardware and is very user friendly.
For those unaware, Remix OS is an operating system based on Android by a company called Jide that is run by former Google employees. Remix OS is designed for tablets or mini PCs with a keyboard and mouse. Many have said that this is what Chrome OS should have been.
Remix OS resembles Windows or Chrome OS more than it does Android. Some of the features that differenate it from Android is that it has a start menu, a taskbar, a file manager and resizable windows for apps.
