Orvibo Coco Smart WiFi Power Strip

A company well known for their Smart WiFi Power Sockets have released a new product called the Orvibo Coco. The Orvibo Coco is a power strip that can be controlled over WiFi with USB ports for charging.

The phone app allows you to remotely control the power sockets by turning them on or off and setting timers. This is perfect if you want to turn on your TV and kettle in the morning after waking up. The application requires you to register an account with Orvibo to stop anyone else from using your power strip. The HomeMate app is compatible with devices running Android 4.0 or higher and iOS 6.

The Orvibo Coco features 3 power sockets that can be used with Australian, Chinese, American and European adapters. It has 2 USB ports for charging with a total output of 2A. The power strip has a voltage range of 110V-250V that is suitable for countries using AU, EU and 2 pin US style plugs, but it’s not suitable for the UK.

Orvibo claim that the power strip is using high quality materials with an expected lifetime of 10 years. It is protected against overloading and flame resistance up to 750 °C. As with all electronics from China, the Orvibo Coco would not meet most safety standards, but it is far safer than generic power strips. Keeping it turned off while not in use would be the safest option if you are really worried.

The Orvibo Coco power strip is currently for sale exclusively at Banggood for $22.99 US.
