Xiaomi is hosting an event in China tomorrow where the rumoured Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be launched. It had long been speculated that it would be called the Redmi Note 2 Pro, but now it’s been officially named by Xiaomi.
Naming the new phone as the Redmi Note 3 is good idea as a lot of potential buyers could have been easily confused since there is already the Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime. Ahead of its launch, some specifications and renders have been leaked online.
Redmi Note 3 Design:
For anyone that is familair with Xiaomi would know that almost every phone has the same design with a plastic body. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be the first phone by the company to feature a metal body and a fingerprint sensor. The phone will also be 0.55mm thinner than the Redmi Note 2.
Redmi Note 3 Specs:
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will come in 2 versions. One with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage and the other with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone appears to have similar specifications as the Note 2 and Note 2 Prime. The phone will be encased in a metal body with a fingerprint scanner and it will be 0.55mm thinner than the Redmi Note 2.

A lot of phones from China don’t support a wide range of frequencies, but Xiaomi have always supported a wide range of international frequencies and the Redmi Note 3 is no exception. The frequencies and bands appear to be the same as the Redmi Note 2 which are:
2G GSM: 900/1800/1900MHz;
3G WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100MHz
4G FDD-LTE: 1800/2100/2600MHz, TDD-LTE (B38/B39/B40/B41: 2555-2655MHz)
The 2GB version is expected to cost 999 Yuan (~$156 US) and the 3GB version is expected to be 1099 Yuan (~$172 US).
Xiaomi will officially reveal the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 tomorrow at their “Grande Finale” a long with the rumoured Mi Pad 2 and Smartwatch.
